Field notes / Guide 02

Measure a DXF drawing on iPhone.

Start with LinePocket’s Floor Plan or Shapes sample to learn the controls. Viewing and tools, including samples, require an active seven-day full-app trial or lifetime purchase. Sign in with Apple to start the trial.

  1. Open an ASCII DXF. Check the import warning, visible geometry, and drawing-unit readout. Confirm unitless files with the drawing’s author.
  2. Choose Measure → Distance and place two points. Snapping helps select supported geometry.
  3. For a route or boundary length, choose Path and place each successive point.
  4. Choose Area and place at least three points around a polygon. Read its area and perimeter.
  5. Use Undo to remove the last point or Clear to start again. Use two fingers to pan and zoom while measuring, then Done to navigate.

Measure your own drawing

Sign in with Apple on the logo screen to start the full-app trial. The seven-day trial ends without charging; repeat sign-in on this iPhone keeps the original end date. Purchase or restore lifetime access in Account & License. After the trial, US$49.99 lifetime access, paid once, is required to continue using the tools. Apple displays localized pricing before purchase.

Compare known dimensions with a trusted reference drawing before using results for a site decision. Measurement depends on source geometry, units, snapping, and drawing compatibility.

Upcoming trial update: all accounts receive 30 days from their original trial start. After expiry, keep opening and viewing drawings and PDFs, reviewing saved measurements, and sharing unchanged originals. Creating or editing measurements, PDF calibration, export, printing, sharing saved exports, and sync between devices require lifetime access. Downloaded files and cloud data are kept. This change is not yet in the version 1.2 App Store download.
